Bitcoin (BTC) is the worlds first cryptocurrency. It is referred to as “electronic cash” which is distributed peer-to-peer to avoid double spending.

BTC was created as an alternative to electronic money or digital money other than money issued by the state (fiat money), such as US dollars or rupiah.

BTC as a new form of money can only be mined with a maximum of 21 million units (mining), the Halving mechanism applies every 4 years.

First time is 50 BTC per 10 minutes (on average). As of May 2020 it is 6.25 BTC per 10 minutes and in 2024 it will be 3.125 BTC per 10 minutes, and so on, up to a maximum of 21 million BTC.

This is different from fiat money, which in principle is unlimited.

BTC is inversely proportional to that, that supply must be limited and increasingly scarce through the Halving mechanism.
Bitcoin was first created in 2008 and was first launched on January 4, 2009, when the first block (genesis block) was mined by Satoshi Nakamoto.
There is no clear information, considering that Satoshi Nakamoto is also a pseudonym that may represent a group of people in cyberspace.
Satoshi Nakamoto mentions Bitcoin is “A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Money System”. As a system it is software (software), namely BitcoinCore, to send digital money through a special network on the Internet.

In addition, this system also creates a new form of money (monetary unit), also called Bitcoin (BTC).

Heres how it works in a nutshell.

First, every BTC transaction is verified and validated by miners.

Secondly, transaction data is recorded into a block, and added to a series of previously existing blocks.

Thirdly, all the data is distributed through a peer-to-peer network via the Internet. All network nodes (nodes) have similar transaction data.

Fourth, Miners who successfully verify it first get a reward in the form of new BTC (coinbase) in addition to additional fees in the form of BTC.
